United Against Poverty-Orlando/UP Orlando serves families and individuals by providing crisis care, case management, transformative education, and personal empowerment, food and household subsidy, employment training and placement, and active referrals to other collaborative social service providers. With Lowes Hometowns funding, the organization will renovate its public restrooms - used by thousands each year - from old, ugly and worn out (and just plain "yucky!"), to new, attractive and accessible!

The New Mom and Baby Project will convert two underused rooms at Metropolitan Ministries' MiraclePlace, one of the lead emergency shelters in Tampa Bay, into nurseries for new and expecting mothers. These nurseries will provide a safe and comfortable environment for breastfeeding and family bonding, with support from Lowe’s volunteers to design and furnish the spaces. This project is essential to alleviate stress for mothers, support postpartum health, foster a sense of community, and support families on their journey to self-sufficiency.

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) builds homes, communities, and hope for low-income families. MCHFH will repair homes damaged by three hurricanes in 2024 and strengthen them against future storms. The community will benefit because these homeowners will be safer in their homes during future storms and will be less likely to need financial assistance, to be rescued by community rescue squads or to stay in County-maintained hurricane shelters.

Feeding America in partnership with Feeding South Florida

Feeding South Florida (FSF) will renovate and expand the food storage and sort room at its main distribution center, doubling its capacity to rescue and distribute nutritious food. This critical upgrade will increase the number of people served through FSF’s Client Choice Pantry from 150,000 to 300,000 and potentially expand distribution across all programs from 1.2 million to 2.4 million individuals. Volunteer engagement is expected to grow from 31,000 to 44,000 annually.

LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc.

Following the 2016 Pulse Nightclub tragedy, The LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc. became the hub for not only the LGBTQ community, but for everyone. The organization offers free services to youth and seniors, including health screenings, mental health counseling and more. The Lowe's Hometowns project includes updates to the building including a ramp, ADA doors, roof repair, carpet, exterior lighting, structural repairs, interior and exterior paint and new cubicles.

The Lowe's Hometowns project will complete essential work for a neighborhood child care center that provides affordable care for low-income families.
