As senior vice president, chief information security officer, Marc Varner is responsible for the company’s global cybersecurity strategy, ensuring all Lowe’s information assets and technologies are properly protected. He collaborates with senior technology and business leaders to implement the best security practices to protect and serve our customers and overall business. He joined Lowe’s in 2021.
Marc has more than 30 years of experience in technology, with expertise in global cybersecurity strategy, security architecture and process, information security governance and controls, and regulatory compliance. He previously served as vice president and global chief information security officer at McDonald’s, and as vice president and global chief information security officer at Yum! Brands, where he was responsible for global cybersecurity and strategic cybersecurity planning. At Lowe’s, he was vice president, chief information security officer, before his promotion to senior vice president.
Marc volunteers on the advisory boards of a number of leading cybersecurity companies and serves as a global chair for the Cyber Security Collaborative, which he co-founded in 2012.
