Veterans Community Project (VCP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing Veteran homelessness through the provision of transitional housing and wraparound support services. With support from Lowe’s, VCP of Kansas City will replace damaged roofs on tiny homes, reconfigure the Team 49 Brick Garden, and construct a retaining wall to create safe access around the Outreach Building. These improvements will enhance safety, preserve vital community spaces, and ensure Veterans have a stable, dignified environment as they work toward reintegration and independence.

Newhouse, the first domestic violence shelter in Kansas City and the only one in its urban core, provides shelter, food, clothing, and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, Newhouse will tackle much-needed upgrades and renovations since they moved into the building in 1999, including kitchen, food service, laundry room, and common area renovations and updates. These projects will help make Newhouse feel more like a home for adults, children, and pets escaping domestic violence.

Promise Community Homes serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through Lowe's Hometowns, this life changing facility will be made more accessible by updating pathways, moving and replacing trees, shrubs and signage, updating lighting and installing benches. All these changes will make it easier for those with disabilities to safely get to the community center for activities and connection.

The Salvation Army Springfield MO Family Enrichment Center provides shelter for homeless individuals and families. Through Lowe's Hometowns, the organization's enrichment center will be renovated, including eight family bedrooms and bathrooms. Painting, new light fixtures, fans, sinks, tubs, showers, shower heads, medicine cabinets, toilets, blinds and heating and AC units will all be installed.
