The Milton Volunteer Fire Department community room provides an affordable space for community events, and more. Renovations through Lowe's Hometowns will include new flooring, wall coverings, acoustic ceilings in the restrooms, a concrete parking area and new storage room for the fire department. The project will be completed in partnership with Cabell County Career Technology Center’s Carpentry program.

Through Lowe's Hometowns, Spelter Volunteer Fire Department will renovate the facility's common room, kitchen, sleeping quarters and gym. Flooring, ceilings and paint will also be updated throughout the facility to create a more comfortable space for the hard-working volunteers.

The Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department is working to create an ADA accessible and compliant business office. Electric, framing, removing garage doors, and adding windows would all transform this space. An additional benefit of the project will allow for a day room and training room for the firefighters in the vacated office space upstairs.

Huntington Children's Museum will create a STEAM-focused indoor learning space where exhibits and activities cater to children's specific interests and abilities. Updates to the outside of the museum include replacing exterior lights, stucco, exterior trim, doors, windows, paint and more. A resealed parking area will be added. Inside mechanical, electrical and HVAC services will all occur to get this museum up and running.

The Mission of the Midian Leadership Project works to develop community leaders through holistic educational and social support, anchored in sports-related programming, for young people ages 10 to 25. Their project requires significant work on an empty warehouse purchased as a home for Midian last year. The plan includes infrastructure upgrades, renovation and creation of a multipurpose space, conference room, classroom and workout room.

The Salvation Army of Clarksburg seeks to expand the food pantry to better store food by adding a walk-in freezer and a new refrigerator. Renovation goals include more shelving to store food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies and newborn needs. The pantry also needs fresh paint on the walls and new flooring to provide a professional environment for volunteers and staff who are helping organize and prepare donations for delivery to those in need.

A community center wishes to finalize renovations of its building which was damaged during floods so that it can engage community members with programming and events and be a central piece in building a stronger community. The improvements to the building will ensure equitable access to community groups for many different types of events, and a permanent location for a much-needed senior center.

An organization is working to complete a space for those in recovery from substance abuse and addiction that will serve as a drop-in center and group meeting place — something the community is currently lacking. The organization was gifted a house intended for this purpose, and it seeks assistance in finishing renovations to it, so it can open its doors to those in need.
