Lowe’s Hometowns Grant funds will be used to make needed basic repairs and upgrades to the Physical Wellness area of the First Responders Foundation headquarters.

Through Lowe's Hometowns, an updated outdoor space will create a more accessible and enjoyable experience for residents. Renovations include a wheelchair ramp, new furniture, planting beds and signage. The enhanced space will foster social interaction and refreshing time outside for residents.

The Sprague-Martell Community Center serves as a hub for community gatherings and events, including baseball games, gatherings to celebrate special events, and a voting location. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will bring a new kitchen to the space, replacing the current kitchen which was installed in the 1970’s, and allow the non-profit to better serve the community as well as rent the location going forward.

Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA wants to address the childcare desert in the community by renovating its youth center to be used for licensed programs like non-traditional child care, care before 8am and after 5pm to help match the needs of local shift work employees, drop-in care for parents who may only need an hour or half a day once in a while and for Y-Club, our after school program. Needed improvements include countertop and cupboard replacement, installation of diapering stations, added storage space, sink installations and an under the counter commercial dish machine.
