The Lowe's Hometowns project will help double the capacity of the kitchen area with new flooring, reconfigured walls, updated sinks, more counter space and new appliances. The renovations will create a more functional and uplifting space for the community.

ecoREHAB, Inc. has developed programs with community partners that train at-risk individuals 16+ in the construction trades. The Lowe's Hometowns project will transform a former lumber yard into a construction training facility with work primarily being done on the main building and nearby barn. The facility will become a safe place for students to succeed, find support systems, learn a trade and build self-esteem.

Over the past twenty years, Mackida Loveal & Trip Mentoring Outreach has helped hundreds of youth learn anger management skills, social skills, communication skills, independent life skills, and self-regulation strategies in addition to furthering their education and where needed, provided housing and employment services. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, Mackida will renovate their facility both inside and out.

The organization currently operates in a historic building in need of physical repair so that participants, volunteers, and staff have a space that is safe, accessible, and conducive for program activities. New flooring, an entry area, windows with blinds and the addition of a zen break room will transform this space.

Carey Services, Inc. focuses on turning abilities into opportunities and has a vision of a world where all people are empowered and equally valued in the community. This project would convert an uneven, grass area into an interactive outdoor recreation space, promoting physical, mental and social well-being for individuals with disabilities, their families and the staff who cares for them. The project would include a walking path, sports court and picnic area, including accessible picnic tables and raised community garden beds.

McKenzie's Hope is a Child Advocacy, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center. This project would expand into the building next door to double its capacity and allow the center to better support the children, adults and families it serves. The expansion would create a room large enough to fit the number of team members who need to be present during interviews, and it would add onsite storage.

The Bridge is a community development organization that exists to provide hope by rebuilding lives, restoring families and revitalizing our community. This is done through the Care & Counseling center, a transitional home for women, and a future job-skills training furniture shop. The Bridge would like a facility makeover that includes furniture and decor to provide a calming space for community members.
