The historic Polaris Theater in Port Orchard has hosted thousands of community members since opening in 1924. Through Lowe's Hometowns, upgrades led by the Historic Port Orchard Theater Foundation will renovate the theater’s ticket booth and façade will give the theater a fresh look and revitalize a once thriving beacon of the community. This updated theater will support not only cinema but live music and shows, as well as community events and gatherings, business meetings, and family and community reunions.

The fly building is over 65-years old and the gray cinderblock has never been painted. Some damage occurred on the West side of the building and was covered with boards. The project would help the theater become an aesthetically pleasing part of the neighborhood.
