The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) is dedicated to preserving and perpetuating Pueblo culture, history, and art while fostering economic opportunities for Native entrepreneurs. With support from Lowe’s Hometowns Grant, IPCC will enhance its North Campus by upgrading the Resilience Garden, and improving stormwater drainage with a landscaped retention pond, to create a welcoming and functional outdoor space.

Elba Theatre Cultural Arts Center stage repair

A theatre and cultural arts center seeks assistance in repairing its stage, so it can become a space truly usable for showcasing performing arts shows and events, making it the only venue of its kind in the community to do so. As a marquee building in the historic downtown, the improvements will further town revitalization efforts and help bring foot traffic back into the main part of town.

Gilroy Center for the Arts

An arts center that supports artistic and cultural activities in its community seeks to repair a decaying facade, install safety exterior lighting and paint the exterior and interior of the building. The community suffered a major blow because of the July 2019 Gilroy Garlic shooting and never had the chance to recover before entering into the pandemic. Improving the center will help the community continue to promote and embrace the artwork created by residents.

As part of a broad-scale revitalization effort for the historic city of Pittston, including a goal to have more public art per square mile than any city in the country, city officials seek to complete an art academy, which will provide affordable work studios for artists as well as several classrooms for art instruction. The project will allow for long-term sustainable physical space and community programming opportunities for both accomplished and fledgling artists, and encourage inclusive, diverse community engagement. 

CCC Schoolhouse restoration project

A private nonprofit dedicated to archaeological research, historic preservation and public education seeks assistance in preserving and restoring its 1938 schoolhouse headquarters which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is the last of the historic Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Schoolhouses still standing in New Mexico., and the renovation will provide community residents and visitors with reminders of the building’s rich past and be a model for historic preservation.

Effie Yeaw Nature Center revitalization
