Lowe’s Shines a Green Light in Honor of Texas Flood Victims

In the wake of devastating floods that have ravaged parts of Texas, Lowe’s is offering a gesture of solidarity and healing. Beginning Saturday, July 19 at 9 a.m., 13 Lowe’s stores across Kerrville, San Antonio, Marble Falls, and Leander will offer free green outdoor LED light bulbs to local residents—no purchase necessary, while supplies last. 

Lowe's joins the growing movement to illuminate Texas neighborhoods in green, a color inspired by the spirit of Camp Mystic, and now a symbol of remembrance and hope for lives lost and those still missing. “Lowe’s is not just a company; it’s part of this community,” said William (Bill) Ryan, Store Manager of Lowe’s of Kerrville. “We all have friends, neighbors and family that have been affected by the floods. Each store represents the community it supports. It’s our responsibility to help stand up the community when it falls down.” 

Kerrville, one of the communities most impacted by the flooding, has seen a remarkable outpouring of aid and resilience. Lowe’s store associates there have been on the ground—handing out relief supplies, donating essential products, and standing shoulder to shoulder with first responders and local nonprofits. 

Residents can visit any of the participating Lowe’s stores beginning Saturday, July 19 at 9 a.m. to pick up a green LED bulb in the checkout area:
