Now officially in its third year, the Lowe's Hometowns grant program is once again hitting the ground running to fulfill the five-year, $100 million commitment to revitalizing community spaces nationwide. This year, 88 diverse communities in 44 states and Washington, D.C., will receive grants for a wide range of projects. These include renovations in community centers, affordable housing services, veterans and military family facilities, first responder communities, and more, ensuring that the needs of all communities are met.

The Veterans Community Project in Sioux Falls is one of those recipients. It focuses on providing housing solutions for homeless veterans or veterans living in substandard housing. With the help of the Lowe's Hometowns grant, it will build ten tiny homes to tackle the issue affecting over 7,350 veterans in need in South Dakota alone. Here's what project nominee and Lowe’s schedule and staffing administrator, Sara Peterson, had to say about the project.

Lowe's support will not only aid in completing the final phase of our tiny homes project but will also contribute to the broader goal of creating a sustainable and supportive environment for veterans to reintegrate into society successfully. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those who have served our country, ensuring they have access to safe, stable housing and the support they need to rebuild their lives.
